Primary Care Multidisciplinary Health Care Team
Sometimes the GP isn’t really the best person to see.
Patients can be seen and treated quicker by a nurse or a physiotherapist for example and in some cases, the GP practice might not be the right place at all for the query. Please read more about the multidisciplinary working at Lingwell Croft Surgery and how they be able to with your query or problem.
Community Midwives
Midwives offer care during pregnancy and after birth to all patients registered with the surgery. On registering with the midwife, you will be given more information on the roles of the midwife, GP, health visitor and all clinics you will need to attend during your pregnancy.
Community Nurses
District nursing sisters are qualified to degree level and provide a service to housebound patients. Lingwell Croft Surgery are supported by a team of fully qualified nurses.
The team provides professional support and advice in a variety of areas such as terminal care, wound care, incontinence assessments and some post-operative discharge follow-ups.
Each patient is assessed individually, and care planned accordingly, in discussion with the patient.
Referral on to other agencies may be appropriate in some cases.
Health Visitors
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children, and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical, and social wellbeing.
